5 tips for making pizza dough without mistakes
1. Prepare the salt and yeast in separate containers.
One of the basic and extremely important principles of dough preparation is not to mix the yeast with the salt. This is because direct contact of the yeast with the salt causes the dough to not rise as it should. Therefore, when preparing the yeast, do not add salt; add it separately.
2. Let the dough rest for 40-50 minutes
After preparing the dough, it should rest long enough for it to at least double in size. This process usually takes 40 to 50 minutes, the time needed for the dough to rise and become soft.
3. Open the dough little by little
Once the dough has finished resting, you will need to open it, slowly stretching it with your fingertips, following the rounded shape of the pizza. Remember not to handle the dough too much, after all, if you knead it too much, it will become tough because of the gluten .
4. Use the maximum oven temperature to bake the pizza
Use your oven’s maximum power to bake your pizza, letting it reach maximum temperature before placing your dough inside. So, while you assemble your pizza toppings, leave the oven preheated, ok?
5. Add one filling ingredient at a time
This tip is not necessarily for preparing the dough, but without it, the quality of your pizza will be at risk. Therefore, be careful when assembling the filling, preferably not adding all the ingredients at once.
Each one has its own cooking time, and if you add them all at once, some may overcook and others undercook. Fill the dough with tomato sauce, followed by mozzarella and the other ingredients of your choice, finishing with another layer of cheese.
